Vadim Krasnoselsky received the Ukrainian delegation

A meeting between the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Ukraine to the Republic of Moldova Paun Rohovei was held in the presidential executive office. The diplomat was accompanied by the representative of Ukraine in the Pridnestrovian settlement Marko Shevchenko and the representative of Ukraine in the JCC Nestor Ilnitsky. The PMR Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatiev took part in the conversation from the Pridnestrovian side.

Vadim Krasnoselsky noted while welcoming the guests that there have been job changes in the composition of the Ukrainian delegation since the previous meeting, but the situation and issues requiring discussion and finding solutions have remained the same. The PMR President spoke about the idle negotiation process, the "5 + 2" format work freezing, the absence of a dialogue platform.

Speaking about the Pridnestrovian-Ukrainian relations, Vadim Krasnoselsky emphasized that the republic is consistent in its actions and continues to provide all possible assistance to citizens of Ukraine who left its territory due to geopolitical circumstances. About fifty refugees live on state support in a specially created temporary residence center at the moment. There are nine children among them. More than four hundred young residents of Ukraine study in Pridnestrovian schools, over 170 attend kindergartens, and those who wish use additional education services. All this is free of charge, President reminded. He noted that there are no conflict situations between Pridnestrovians and residents of Ukraine in the republic. Vadim Krasnoselsky reminded that there are educational institutions with Ukrainian as the language of study in Pridnestrovie. In addition, Ukrainian or Moldovan is a mandatory second official language (optional) in Russian-language schools.

Speaking about the economic cooperation between Pridnestrovie and Ukraine, Vadim Krasnoselsky noted that it has been minimized due to well-known objective reasons. The President expressed hope that ties and contacts will be resumed and intensified in the future.

During the working aspects discussion the Ambassador of Ukraine indicated that weekly on Fridays a specific day for reception has been allocated for the convenience of Ukrainian citizens living in Pridnestrovie. The issue of resuming the work of the consular service point on the territory of Pridnestrovie has not been removed from the agenda, according to Paun Rohovei.
