The head of the Pridnestrovian delegation to the JCC commented on today's protest rally in Bendery

Bendery, January 18. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The citizens of Pridnestrovie, who held a rally today in Bendery against the economic pressure of Moldova, acted within the framework of the natural right to express their opinion. The co-chairman of the Joint Control Commission from Pridnestrovie, Oleg Belyakov, told reporters about this.

“This is the natural right of citizens living on the territory of Pridnestrovie to express their opinion,” the head of the Pridnestrovian delegation said. – This is their legal right to demonstrate their activity regarding the lawlessness that comes from the Moldovan side and is associated with the seizure of funds, impairment of rights of citizens living on our territory, which leads to a certain complication of life. We must understand this very well.”

On January 1, Moldova unexpectedly began to collect customs duties on goods from Pridnestrovian companies. Economic agents of the PMR actually fell under double taxation. The duties go to the budget of Moldova, which is not connected with the social system of Pridnestrovie. According to preliminary data from the State Customs Committee of the PMR, damage to Pridnestrovie could amount to $16 million a year. One of the consequences of these duties will be an increase in prices.
