Bendery, October 11/ Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Restoration works continue in the Bendery fortress citadel. Turkish specialists do them. Architecture students of the Pridnestrovian Shevchenko State University Polytechnic Branch assist them with it.
According to the First Pridnestrovian TV channel, at the moment, the most difficult process in the stronghold is the construction of a wooden roof on towers.
The memorial and historical complex director explained that the roof was being built from laminated timber, which had been delivered from Austria.
"In our region, such procedures or restorations have never been. the Such idea was to invite students to begin preparing specialists who could understand the restoration process".
Vladislav Moroz, a Pridnestrovian Shevchenko State University Polytechnic Branch student noted that they were working in tandem with Turkish specialists.
“They demonstrated to us every drawing and plan, has been described as how the truss system would look like. There will be wooden roofing tiles instead of the previous ones. I was able to participate in welding work. During the process, I understood how the rafter systems frames have been welded,” the student noted.
Future Pridnestrovian restoration experts shared they have learned a lot. For instance, how to save ancient walls from water and a lot of other useful information.
Restoration experts from Turkey will work in Bendery fortress down to freezing. There’re also plans to complete two of the three towers.
