Tiraspol, June 23. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Today, the watershed between Pridnestrovie and Moldova is obvious, and this applies to both the state and society. And it is virtually impossible to unite the PMR and the RM. This was announced on the Russia-24 TV channel by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev.
“We have different values, different history, and identity, different priorities. Literally on June 19, in Bendery, we celebrated the tragic date of the 30th anniversary of the attack on a peaceful city by Moldova. Our civilians died, and kindergartens and hospitals were destroyed. While in Chisinau there was a parade of LGBT people that day. Or, say, this year has been declared the year of combatants in Moldova, that is, those who killed Pridnestrovians in 1992, while this is the Year of Health in our country,” Ignatiev provided an example.
He drew attention to the fact that the Moldovan leadership turned the Republic of Moldova into the second Romanian state.
“The prospects for Moldova's European integration are very vague, but to become some kind of appendage, a part of Romania, to further strengthen relations with it - the Moldovan authorities are operating on a broad scale here. Pridnestrovie, on the other hand, has completely different plans, determined at the referendum / 2006 - ed. note /: Independence and Subsequent Development of Relations with Russia,” the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR emphasized.
According to him, if the leadership of Moldova has determined its European integration choice without asking the inhabitants of Pridnestrovie, then Chisinau needs to sit down at the negotiating table with Tiraspol, sign a peace agreement, recognize each other's independence and thereby close the long-term Moldovan-Pridnestrovian conflict down.
