Bendery, September 16. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Joint Control Commission reviewed the progress in the seizure of weapons in the Security Zone. As the Co-Chairman of the JCC from Pridnestrovie, Oleg Belyakov told reporters, 3,300 units of automatic weapons and ammunition, including 600 grenades, were seized in this territory over six months.
“There were cartridges, there were automatic weapons. These figures speak volumes - how many lives were saved, how many emergencies were avoided. All this was the result of the Peacekeeping Forces and law enforcement agencies` joint work,” Oleg Belyakov emphasized.
According to the Head of the Pridnestrovian delegation, this work makes life safer on both banks of the Dniester, and therefore it must be continued in the future.
The weapons and ammunition that are found in the Security Zone have remained from the 1992 hostilities and the Great Patriotic War
