Tiraspol, April 11. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The problem of stagnation in the negotiation process between Pridnestrovie and Moldova was discussed at a meeting of the President of the PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky and Deputy Foreign Minister of the Russian Federation Andrey Rudenko in Moscow. This was announced in an interview to the First Pridnestrovian TV Channel by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the PMR Vitaly Ignatiev, who also took part in a working visit to the Russian capital.

“Stagnation in the negotiations is not because we have reduced contacts. I stay in constant communication with my Moldovan colleague [Olga Chebotari - ed. Note]. The problem is that the negotiation process mechanisms do not work. It is one thing to communicate with a political representative on a regular basis in the work mode, and there are no restrictions. Another thing is to hold meetings, while there were only two of them with my colleague, and meetings of expert (working) groups. If earlier there were 30-40 of them, today there are actually only 8 meetings. Many of them are postponed, while these 8 meetings have not led to the solution of a single issue,” Vitaly Ignatiev said.

He the main problem of the negotiation process stagnation the refusal of Chisinau to fulfill the previously reached agreements, the unwillingness to use political and diplomatic tools in order to resolve issues, and the creation of restrictions for Pridnestrovie.

“The introduction of the so-called second phase of control at Kuchurgan has been announced. We receive a significant amount of food, industrial goods, as well as essential goods, including medicines, through this Ukrainian checkpoint. Of course, the introduction of the second phase is a serious blocking measure for life in the PMR, for individual entrepreneurs, for people. Such restrictions are unacceptable and will have an extremely negative impact on the general situation and the atmosphere of the negotiation process,” the PMR Foreign Minister thinks.

The Minister also recalled the announced introduction of restrictions on the Pridnestrovian vehicles` movement on the territory of Ukraine from September 1.

“This is a challenge to the negotiation process, because it runs counter to all documents, principles and procedures of the negotiation process, grossly violates the protocol decision on road transport, signed in April 2018, and in fact is not motivated by anything. This will hit the people, the negotiations hardest, destabilize the regional situation and is completely contrary to the goals that we set ourselves in the framework of the dialogue. Not only we did, but also the Russian Federation and other international partners. Everyone needs stability, transparency and systematic work at the negotiating table at the level of reasonable dialogue,” Vitaly Ignatiev emphasized.

Industry-specific issues of the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian negotiations were also discussed at the meeting with Andrey Rudenko. According to the Head of the PMR Foreign Ministry, the banking problem is still acute, the issue of telecommunications is not being resolved, there is a negative dynamics on the criminal cases issue.

“There is an illegally detained and illegally convicted citizen of the PMR Andrey Samoniy, whose release we are seeking, including with human rights structures involvement,” Vitaly Ignatiev summed up.
