The President congratulated the babies and their mothers in the maternity hospital of Bendery

Eva is only three days old. Mikhail is even younger: he was born the day before yesterday. Both of them had already met the President. Vadim Krasnoselsky visited today the Bendery maternity hospital, where newborn residents of Bendery and their mothers are preparing for a ceremonial discharge.

The visit by the leadership of the republic and the city to the Mother and Child Center of Bendery on June 19 is a long-standing tradition, to remind that the efforts of the Moldovan nationalists were in vain: the city lives and prospers.

The maternity hospital of Bendery found itself in the line of fire in 1992. It was located that time in Dzerzhinsky Street, a few blocks from the Moldovan police building. When the Special Weapons and Tactics officers arrived, there were about eighty expectant mothers and women in labor. Doctors from Bendery helped four babies be born under difficult conditions on June 19, 1992. The birth took place in the basement of the maternity hospital. “The wives of policemen and our militiamen gave birth then. The situation was very difficult, there were gunshots everywhere, but we provided full assistance to women in labor,” recalled Natalya Berlinskaya, deputy chief physician for obstetrics and gynecology at the Bendery Mother and Child Center, during the visit of the PMR President today. Doctors receive special words of gratitude from the President.

Vadim Krasnoselsky met the newborns, congratulated their mothers and doctors, emphasizing that the birth of a person is an important event not only for parents, but also for doctors, as well as for the entire state. The President wished Eva, Mikhail and their mothers health, and their families further replenishment and prosperity.

The guest was told that tiny resident of Bendery Eva is the first-born in the family. The girl's name was chosen by her father, who dreamed of a daughter. Today’s congratulations came as a surprise for Irina, the baby’s mother. She is sure that congratulations from the President are a good sign.

Mikhail is the second child in the family. He has an older sister. Mother Victoria said that she is from Russia, her husband is from Moldova. When the parents were preparing for the upcoming birth, they decided that their son would be born in Pridnestrovie. “Pridnestrovie is closer to me,” Victoria shared.

Flowers and gift certificates will be received by the mothers of all babies who will be born in the Bendery maternity hospital today, a significant day for every resident of Bendery.
