Bendery is 614. Many years have passed since the first annalistic mention of this settlement. The official date is October 8, 1408. The celebration program this year is scheduled for two days. The plans include church, official, sports, and entertainment events: a religious procession, congratulations to mothers whose babies were born on a festive day for the city, honoring newlyweds, gold and silver anniversaries, as well as winners of the Bendery Pedestal contest, a trolleybus tour of the city birthday, exhibitions, concerts, fireworks.
There was held the Golden Dragon Cup 2022 birthday regatta. Representatives of various departments, organizations and enterprises – 17 teams competed in two groups in collective skill and command speed on the "Dragon" class boats. There are those who have already participated at the "The President's Family for Healthy Lifestyle" regatta, and teams that participate in competitions of this kind for the first time. Someone strengthened the teams with professionals; others formed teams from absolute beginners. Representatives of the Administration of the PMR President took part in today's regatta. The team took the path of introducing more employees to rowing and significantly updated the team after a victorious performance in August. There was no presidential couple in the crew today. The Krasnoselskys watched the competition as spectators. The support of the President, the right attitude, high-quality training and team spirit helped the crew of the Presidential Administration to win three intermediate and most important final victories. The PMR Administration is again the winner in the group of civil departments. The team of the State Security Service won among the security forces.
The golden dragon as a reward for the strongest is presented for the first time. The regatta in honor of Bendery name days is conceived as traditional. The sports battle for the cup will resume exactly in a year, Vadim Krasnoselsky noted during the ceremony of honoring the winners. The President expressed confidence that similar events would be held not only in Bendery –d there are rowing bases in other cities of the republic. The President called rowing on Dragon-class boats a democratic and accessible sport and called for not only corporate, but also family involvement in it.
