Tiraspol, August 31. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. During the meeting with the leaders of the mainstream media of the republic, the President of the PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky spoke about the Ukrainian refugees` presence in the territory of Pridnestrovie.
Vadim Krasnoselsky noted that more than 50,000 citizens of Ukraine have entered the PMR since the end of February. Now there are about 22 thousand people in the republic.
“You have to help your neighbor. This is a Christian commandment. When there was a war in Pridnestrovie, Ukraine, the city of Odesa, Odesa Region, sheltered our refugees for a certain period. Nobody knew what period it would be. They sheltered us and gave us housing and bread. Therefore, of course, we sheltered Ukrainian refugees here, in Pridnestrovie, but it should be noted: people came here to peace, you see? The overwhelming majority of those people who came to us here came to live a peaceful life,” the head of state stressed.
The President recalled that Ukrainian citizens are being helped to get a job in Pridnestrovie, and enroll their children in kindergartens and schools. In addition, temporary residence centers for citizens of Ukraine operate in the republic. Now there are about 200 people.
