She won the European Championship for Small Countries

Tiraspol, June 12/ Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Tiraspol runner Lilia Fiskovich won the European Championship for Small Countries, which is taking place these days in Malta.

The Pridnestrovian athlete finished first in the 5 km race, although such distance is far from her crown one. The runner specializes in the classic 42 km marathon. In such a discipline, Lilia participated in two Olympiads.

In Malta, Fiskovich ran 5 km in 16 minutes 42 seconds.

Before the start, in an interview with the Novosti Pridnestrovya news agency, Lilia admitted that she was in excellent shape and was ready to win back the Olympic quota next season.

The victory at the European Championship among small countries is already the sixth international success of the Tiraspol resident this year. And Lilia Fiskovich doesn’t plan to stop there.

“I have a training camp in the Carpathians in a week. It’ll last two months, after which the central season start is the adult European Championship,” the runner specified.

Lilia Fiskovich will compete for a medal at the European Championship in August in Germany.
