Vadim Krasnoselsky advised Maya Sandu not to confuse politics and humanitarian issues

The PMR President commented on the statements of the Head of Moldova about the Russian troops and the so-called reintegration

Tiraspol, June 24. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The previous day, in an interview with Free Europe, Maya Sandu made a statement regarding the need for the Russian troops` withdrawal and the need for a new approach to the Moldovan-Pridnestrovian conflict. In particular, the President of Moldova stated that “it is necessary not only to solve individual problems”, but to develop a plan for the so-called “reintegration”.

In his commentary published on the website of the Head of Pridnestrovie, Vadim Krasnoselsky noted that he had a feeling of some understatement, which gave rise to a number of questions to the President of Moldova.

“First, what was meant by the term “Russian troops”, often used by Moldovan politicians: is the Russian peacekeeping contingent participating in the functioning of the peacekeeping operation on the Dniester a part of this concept?

Secondly, what are the prospects for the international format 5 + 2, and is the Moldovan side ready to fulfill the agreement, conceptual for this mechanism, on the operation of this dialogue platform in the form of "Principles and Procedures ..."?

Thirdly, what is the basis of the Moldovan side's confidence in its ability to move on to a real discussion of conceptual issues of the settlement of relations with Pridnestrovie, if over the past years Chisinau has proved to be absolutely incapable of fulfilling officially assumed international obligations on certain social and humanitarian issues within the Berlin plus package? Where should we start the “long way” if even the smallest steps have not been taken?

I am ready to hear the President of Moldova`s opinion on specific aspects of relations with Pridnestrovie, so to speak, closer to the real situation,” Vadim Krasnoselsky summed up.

At the same time, the President of the PMR expressed gratitude for the provision of the vaccine to Pridnestrovie, but asked not to mix politics and social and humanitarian issues.

“I am grateful to the leader of the neighboring republic for the announced initiative to provide Pridnestrovians with a part of not only the COVID vaccine received by Moldova in humanitarian directions, but also the purchased one. This would be a sign of good-neighborliness and an example of joining forces in the fight against a common problem - the spread of the coronavirus. But this has nothing to do with “accelerating reintegration”. I urge not to confuse the social and humanitarian aspects with politics,” Vadim Krasnoselsky wrote in his telegram channel.
