Tiraspol, June 11. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. A group of rock climbers from Pridnestrovie took first place at the Moldavian Mountain Tourism Championship. Competitions were held in Butucheny. Natalya Konstandaki, the head of the ZUBR tourist club, told about how it happened.
“The competition is about a team of four athletes climbing 25 m high rocky terrain using special equipment. Then they change their leaders and go for a descent. Then two units change routes, after which they repeat the ascent and descent along the new route. That is, each participant ascends and descends twice on different routes," the head of the ZUBR tourist club shared.
Natalya Konstandaki, Yaroslav Belenky, Alexander Zaporoshchenko and Dana Gutovskaya were the best and took gold. In total, a delegation of 12 people from Pridnestrovie participated in the competition. These are three teams of 4 people: two older ones, one younger (up to 16 years old). Among the participants are representatives of the station of young tourists and the tourist club ZUBR.
Now climbers are preparing for the Moldavian Sports Tourism Championship. Pridnestrovians will participate there in four types of distances: walking, mountain, cycling and water in bidarkas and kayaking. The competition will take place in Trebugeni on June 24-27.
