Festive events will be held with due regard for quarantine measures

Tiraspol, April 28. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Tiraspol is actively preparing for the Victory Day. The city is being decked out, and it will be completely decorated on May 7. All events for the 76th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War will be held with due regard for quarantine requirements in the capital. The program includes the traditional laying of flowers at the Memorial of Glory (it will start at 9:20 am), the ceremony of raising the Victory Banner and, of course, a military parade (will take place from 10:00 am to 11:00 am).

The stands for spectators will be installed from both sides of Suvorov monument, and on the opposite one - where there is the monument to the Grand Russian empress Catherine II). There will be 1000 seats, yet only 400 people will receive passes and invitations.

During the parade and the performance of the Guard of Honor, the Catherine Park will be closed. They will let people go there from 14:00 pm; at 17:00 pm a concert will begin (on the stage of the park). At 18:55 pm (at the same time as Russia) a minute of silence will be held, and at 9 pm there will be a celebratory gunfire.

Like last year, army URALs will ride through the city streets, from which soloists of creative groups will perform songs of the wartime.

“The preparation of events related to the celebration of the main participants of the holiday - veterans of the Great Patriotic War, is going on in a special order. There are 27 of them in the city. For them, traveling concerts and congratulations are organized at the place of residence by the efforts of our city department of culture and OGRF. There, the veterans will receive congratulations from the President, material assistance and gift bags from the OGRF. Musicians will sing songs of wartime under the veterans` windows and balconies,” Maria Pashchenko, deputy head of the state administration for social affairs said to Novosti Pridnestrovya News Agency.

The Immortal Regiment, like last year, will be held remotely due to the pandemic. Everyone will be able to join the action by displaying a portrait of their close relative on their window or balcony.

Another matter is related to the work of cafes, bars and other catering establishments. Due to the pandemic, mass gatherings are canceled.
