The Alley of Heroes was reconstructed at the Borisov cemetery in Bendery on behalf of the President in 2019. This is the burial place of the PMR defenders who died defending the republic from Moldovan nationalists. Vadim Krasnoselsky initiated in 2019, the centralized production and installation of monuments at the graves of defenders who died in peacetime (we are talking not only about participants in military operations to protect Pridnestrovie, but also about veterans of the Second World War and the war in Afghanistan). Many of the have passed away over the years of the existence of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. The whole block of burial places of the heroes appeared at the Bendery cemetery. Vadim Krasnoselsky considers that this area should be properly groomed. As part of the first stage (2019), fifty stone slabs were installed at public expense. The implementation of the project was suspended in the pandemic 2020, it will continued in 2021.
The President visited the Bendery cemetery today, examined the burial place of the heroes. There are now about 130 graves there. The next 50 a memorial stones will be erected by June 19 of this year according to the presidential order. Gradually, the same type memorial stones will be installed at each grave of the deceased defender - with the consent of the relatives. They also have to agree with the photo and data that will be reflected on the memorial stone. The territory as a whole will be fenced with hedges and landscaped.
