The Pridnestrovian-Belarusian cooperation in rowing sports has a long history. Dniester is an excellent place for the training process. Belarusian rowers have come to our training camps since the beginning of the 2000s. The specialized children's and youth school of the Olympic reserve of rowing and shooting in Tiraspol is the base. The PMR Championship on rowing machines started here today. Vadim Krasnoselsky took part in the competition. The PMR President talked with the Head Coach of the National Olympic Team of the Republic of Belarus Yuri Rodionov after completing the competitive part. Sportsmen and guests of the championship took part in the conversation.
Vadim Krasnoselsky - candidate for master of sports of the USSR in rowing, Honorary President of the PMR Rowing Federation spoke about the importance of sports education, the preservation and development of the continuity of generations both in rowing and in any other sport, about the need to develop sports infrastructure, establish and expand international contacts in the physical culture and sports.
The PMR President was interested in the level of material and technical equipment of the rowing bases in Belarus. The prospects for further cooperation between the rowing schools of the two republics were discussed.
Yuri Rodionov knows firsthand about the Pridnestrovian rowing base. He was born and raised in Pridnestrovie. His sports career began here. The coach noted the positive changes that Pridnestrovian sports have undergone in recent years.
“We have been moving in this direction in recent years, updating the sports infrastructure. This year we will repair the rowing base in Rybnitsa, purchase sports equipment for the residents of Dubossary and Rybnitsa. We are looking for an opportunity to improve and repair the facilities of the rowing base in Tiraspol”, the President shared his plans. He noted: after of the reconstructed base of the Rowing Center in Bendery opening, the number of pupils and those wishing to train has increased significantly. “It is very joyful to see how young people train. Any coach dreams of Olympic results, of educating a sportsman who will show a high result. This is a good aspiration. I personally think about the mass large-scale participation - this is the basis. We will come to the Olympic result through the mass scale”, - Vadim Krasnoselsky considers.
Concluding the meeting, the interlocutors expressed mutual hope for further strengthening of ties between Pridnestrovian and Belarusian sportsmen.
