Bendery, December 17. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The next meeting of the Joint Control Commission did not conclude with the signing of the final protocol. The agenda of the meeting included two unsigned reports on the situation in the Security Zone. And during the whole day, the parties tried to bring their positions closer to sign these reports.

As the Co-Chairman of the JCC from Pridnestrovie, Oleg Belyakov, noted, the JMC working documents are not being signed exclusively by one Moldovan side.

“We still see the reluctance of one side - the Moldovan one - to work constructively. Once again, a completely worked out report of the Joint Military Command, which contains complete information about the situation in the Security Zone, was not signed. After all, our main task is to inform the population that the situation is stable and controlled by the peacekeeping forces. Someone does not want it to be...” the Co-Chairman stated.

This time the RM representatives were not satisfied with the report of the military commandant.

“The Moldovan side has long begun to unbalance the institution of military observers and JMC, reports are not signed, now they have taken on the institution of military commandants, who are conscientiously carrying out their duties in the Security Zone,” added Oleg Belyakov.

It should be noted that the crisis in the work of the institutions of the peacekeeping operation began in the autumn of this year. According to the head of the Pridnestrovian delegation, there is a connection with the political processes in the neighboring country and the statements of high-ranking Moldovan officials about the need to withdraw the Russian peacekeepers.

“Pridnestrovie stands for maintaining the peacekeeping operation in the current format. It is absolutely impermissible to change it,” Oleg Belyakov summed up.
