Tiraspol, October, 4. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Prague Baseball Week is already considered to be European classic. It has been held since 1979 and brings together clubs from all over the continent. This season, the pandemic has changed the calendar trend from summer to autumn. Instead of eight, four teams made it to the baseball podium. Among them is the Russian national team. There are three Pridnestrovians: outfielder Konstantin Porkhun, pitchers Peter and Vadim Balan.
“This is a very high-status European tournament. International baseball stars had been in the lead for three years in a row. We lost to them in the semifinals last year. This year – we beat them in the semifinals. It was very important for us to win the first triumphal cup in the Czech Republic,” Vadim Balan, pitcher of the Russian national team, resident of Tiraspol says.
The Russian national team defeated the hosts of the tournament - the Czech Republic team - with a score of 9: 5 in the final. Our players left their mark in Eurobaseball along with the first Prague gold.

Baseball season is over. Due to the COVID situation, this was the first and last international trophy for the Russian team this year. After the break, preparations for the new season will begin.
