Vadim Krasnoselsky met with representatives of the Ukrainian public

Vadim Krasnoselsky met with the Chairman of the Union of Ukrainians of Pridnestrovie Peter Bogutsky, and the Head of the Ukrainian Center for Cooperation Vladimir Fomenko at the presidential executive office. Special Representative of the PMR President on cooperation with Ukraine Vladimir Smirnov took part in the working discussion.

Welcoming the interlocutors, Vadim Krasnoselsky noted that the relationship between the two states has a strong historical platform. The PMR President indicated that a lot has been accumulated for discussion. Among them there are issues traditional for the Pridnestrovian-Ukrainian agenda, cultural, humanitarian, economic cooperation and the citizenship of Ukraine for Pridnestrovians, as well as those that have matured in connection with the numerous statements about the actions of the Ukrainian side coming from Moldovan politicians. Vadim Krasnoselsky, with satisfaction stating the fact of the appointment of new ambassador of Ukraine to the Republic of Moldova, informed about the meeting with Mark Shevchenko planned for the near future.

Peter Bogutsky, in turn, noted that the Union of Ukrainians of Pridnestrovie is actively involved in the life of compatriots living in the PMR and the republic as a whole. A public figure called his organization “a bridge of friendship between Pridnestrovie and Ukraine.” Peter Bogutsky announced the preparation of a large conference, which, according to the charter of the Union, is held every five years. Guests from Ukraine are invited to participate. The event will take place on February 29 in Grigoriopol. Organizational and preparatory work is also being conducted to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory and the 30th anniversary of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic, the head of the Union of Ukrainians of Pridnestrovie informed.

The meeting participants discussed wide range of issues related to the Ukrainian diaspora of Pridnestrovie, the activities of the Union, and the interaction of the two states. Having exchanged views and suggestions, they agreed to continue constructive cooperation in the working order.
