A solemn meeting dedicated to the 28th anniversary of the revival of the Black Sea Cossack army took place in the hall of the cultural and educational center named after Cyril and Methodius. The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky took part in the event. Welcoming the representatives of the Pridnestrovian Cossacks, the President emphasized that the revival of Cossacks in the republic is inextricably linked with its history. He talked about the difficult fate of the Cossacks as a whole, about the tragic events of the first half of the last century, attempts to destroy the Cossacks as a class and the factors that made this impossible. Vadim Krasnoselsky expressed gratitude to the Cossacks for their service, protection of the republic's borders, social activities, work on the patriotic education of youth and the preservation of traditions.
During the ceremony, they remembered and honored with a minute of silence the Cossacks who died in the early 90s of the last century, protecting Pridnestrovie. Vadim Krasnoselsky drew attention of the audience to the fact that 23 out of 90 Cossacks who had sacrificed their lives for the independence of the republic came from other states. This speaks of the unity of the Cossacks, a fraternity based on the ideology of the Cossacks, the President considers.
They spoke at the gathering about the achievements and plans of the Pridnestrovian Cossacks. It is noted that there are seven divisions in the republic, another three divisions of Pridnestrovian Cossacks operate in the Russian Federation and Ukraine. They mentioned the preparation of an agreement on cooperation with the Balkan Cossack army.
Honorable Cossacks were awarded. They mentioned those who, not being a representative of the Cossacks, contribute to its development. The PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky was awarded the Order "For Serving the Cossacks".
