Tiraspol, December 14. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. During the interview with the First Pridnestrovian TV channel, Prime Minister Alexander Martynov spoke about the areas in which people with disabilities were supported in 2019.
According to the Prime Minister, since the beginning of the year, about 170 people with disabilities received wheelchairs, while another 23 people received wheelchairs with an electric drive. At the expense of the state budget, there are new rehabilitation centers developed and opened, orthopedic shoes, canes, etc. are purchased.
Another direction of state support is the provision of housing for war invalids - defenders of Pridnestrovie.
“This issue has not been resolved for decades. Although it was about only 9 citizens. These people lost their health, protecting our republic. Therefore, it was a matter of principle, a matter of honor for the state to solve the housing problem, at least for these 9 people. And this problem has been resolved,” the Prime Minister explained.
According to the Prime Minister, for effective work people`s problems should be heard. To do this, the Government travels to the regions and cities of the republic, meets with the public, and representatives of public organizations are regular guests in the Government. He stressed that most of the bills that the Government proposes were born on the basis of social dialogue.
“People with disabilities, war veterans, including war veterans who protected Pridnestrovie, are a separate category for us that needs to be supported. And we cannot allow them to be in unbearable conditions. The policy in this direction will continue next year,” Alexander Martynov said.
