Bendery, July 16. / Novosti Pridnestrovya/. This weekend, on July 20 and 21, it will be able to plunge into the Middle Ages era. In the Bendery Fortress, there will take place the festival of historical fight «Sword of Genoa».
All equipment is the exact copy of original boards and swords of a medieval era. About fifty fighters in armour from clubs of historical fencing from Pridnestrovie (Phoenix, Tiraspol), Moldova (Boyard, Chisinau) and Ukraine (Ritter, Kharkiv) will take part in the festival. For the safety of the audience, the fight stadium was protected with additional wooden constructions. It will be possible to watch knightly battles in the stands around a fence and also from a Fortress wall.
«Each of the clubs’ participants represents a certain era and the region. Knights of the Central and Eastern Europe are generally presented», - the chief specialist of archival and historical office of the Bendery Fortress Alexander Bulgakov noted.
The «Sword of Genoa» festival is divided into several nominations: women's fights, battles «1 on 1», «5 on 5» and professional duels. The general fight where about 50 knights at the same time will take part will become the most large-scale show.
On the territory of the Fortress, there will be organized thematic zones, master classes in a moulding from clay and blacksmithing, portable trade. Guests will be able to try on a knightly armour, to shoot from a crossbow and even to ride a horse.
«Anyone will be able to get acquainted with the era, rules of life completely. Especially as full compliance with an era was one of the main conditions of participation in a tournament. The medieval camp will be set up, and participants will put on in historical suits. Also, a number of the events directed to reconstruction of spirit and the atmosphere of that era will be held», - Alexander Bulgakov emphasized.
The rock group «Empire» from Zaporizhia will add the atmosphere of the Middle Ages. They will perform covers for the groups Aria, Scorpions and Queen. A concert will begin on Saturday, at 9 pm, at 22:30 it will be a festive salute.
The number of tickets for a festival is limited to. It is possible to get them in online cash desks (bilet.pmr) and in the cash desk of the Fortress. The cost of the ticket for the first day is 75 rubles for adults and 25 for children and exempts, on the second – 50 and 25 rubles. Tickets for a rock concert can be acquired separately, they will be on sale from 8 pm.
The festival will begin on July 20 at 15:00 in a citadel of the Bendery Fortress. And on July 21 it will be possible to watch a knightly tournament from 13:00.
