Tiraspol, May, 16. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Supreme Council was visited by a delegation of representatives of the Institute of Europe at the University of Zurich. The guests from Switzerland, who want to learn as much as possible about our republic, were met by the Speaker of the Parliament, Alexander Korshunov, and the heads of the committees.
“We came here to learn more about your country. We are always interested in developing partnerships between countries and get more information on the spot. Unfortunately, there is little information about Pridnestrovie in Europe and Switzerland. But after this meeting, I will talk with my colleagues about you. And if I can support you, help you with something, I will do it,” Jean-Franсois Rome, adviser to the National Council of Switzerland said.
Special attention at the meeting was given to the humanitarian sphere, namely, cooperation between universities, according to the parliamentary press service reports.
“There was a proposal for possible cooperation with your university. We already cooperate with universities in Chisinau and Odessa. Once a year, our teachers, professors come there for three weeks to teach. And their Moldovan and Ukrainian colleagues come to us and hold lectures. We finance this work,” Andreas Kellerhals, Director of the Institute of Europe said.
Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on Education, Science and Culture, Mikhail Burla, believes that the experience of Switzerland will be of great use to Pridnestrovie.
“There are four state languages in Switzerland, <...> a very high level of development of the state, to which we must strive. In Switzerland, there is the experience of the existence of two enclaves: Italian and German. How does the interaction with these enclaves, which are not under the jurisdiction of Switzerland itself, take place - for us this experience is also invaluable,” Burla emphasized.
What is Pridnestrovie, what advantages does our state have? These moments should be brought to the world community. Moreover, the republic becomes an interesting production site, Oleg Vasilaty, chairman of the Committee on Economic Policy, Budget and Finance said.
“The main thing is that as many people as possible who are thinking of doing business know about it. The fact that Pridnestrovie has three advantages has aroused great interest. It is about the opportunity to work, producing products in Pridnestrovie, selling it duty free from Vladivostok to Brest. It is about the high competitiveness of energy resources possessed by Pridnestrovie. And we are talking about investment legislation, which was born in Pridnestrovie,” the deputy said.
