Tiraspol city beach is not the first year becoming a platform on which the battle reconstruction passes on the eve of Victory Day. Residents and guests of the capital gather on the banks of the Dniester in order to remember what price the Soviet Soldier won in the most bloody war of modern times. Words above the peacefully flowing river reminded about 72 scorched by fascist fire and tens of millions of dead, that every second inhabitant of Pridnestrovian region did not survive these tragic war years. Today’s reconstruction is a story about the events of the middle of 1943, when there was a perfidious attack on the country, the battle for Moscow, the Battle of Stalingrad, the heroic defense of the Caucasus, and the Battle of Kursk. This is a story about one of military episodes of the victorious offensive of the Red Army along the front line with total length of two thousand kilometers. There is battle for Ukraine, the liberation of Moldova, the lifting of the blockade of Leningrad ... Ahead is the Great Victory. “Running to the Dnieper” - under this title was created a chapter of history the Germans retreat, depicted by the participants of the current production. The heroism of Soviet soldiers in battle shows the number of awards: 2438 participants in this strategically important battle have been awarded the title of Hero of the Soviet Union. Among them there are our countrymen - a native of Kamenka Ivan Koval, citizens of Tiraspol Mikhail Pavlotsky and Pavel Scherbinko, as well as a resident of the Altai village Zhanibek Eleusov. August 26, 1943. The general offensive of the five Soviet fronts. From the USSR - 2400 tanks, 2850 aircraft, 50000 guns and more than two and a half million soldiers, in the same formation as which the commander of a platoon of machine-gunners, 18-year-old lieutenant Zhanibek Eleusov, a participant in crossing the Dnieper. On his initiative, 14 Red Army soldiers attacked a hundred and fifty Germans who did not expect the attack. The only survivor in this unequal battle, Lieutenant Eleusov independently held a bridgehead during 18 hours. This time was enough for the main forces to complete the crossing and launch a large-scale victorious offensive.
The picture of the war years came to life thanks to the servicemen of the Operational Group of Russian Forces in Pridnestrovie with the assistance of the Pridnestrovian Ministry of Defense, as well as participants of the patriotic clubs “Heirs of Victories” and “Star”. About seventy people are directly involved in the reconstruction, over a hundred in the preparatory work. Their contribution to preserving the history and upbringing of young people in the spirit of patriotism and respect for the past was noted by the PMR President Vadim Krasnoselsky.
“74 years have passed since the last shots of the Great Patriotic War. This is history for the modern generation, the history that turns into legends. There are very few veterans left who can tell what happened then, what a terrible price of this victory, what feat was accomplished by the Soviet people. So that history does not become legends, such events as today are necessary. This is a reconstruction of concrete battle of the times of the Great Patriotic War with real heroes - lieutenant and heroically warring personnel, and not fictional characters. It is very important. I think that it is necessary to attach to this idea, to involve more and more people, so that each participant of such a reconstruction could let through that feat, the mood that led to the victory of our grandfathers 74 years ago. Of course, viewers also see what really happened. Explosions, shots shake the earth. Imagine what it means to go under these bullets, under these explosions, sacrificing yourself. I am very grateful to everyone who lives by this idea, who embodies it”, the President emphasized.
