Tiraspol, April, 24. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Supreme Council adopted in the first reading the draft target program “Support and development of tourism in the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic for the years 2019-2026”. The total amount of its financing is about 17 million rubles. The document developed by the Government is intended to solve two main tasks: to improve the quality of the tourist product and increase Pridnestrovian tourist attractiveness.
“The government submitted a weighted and verified document. The program provides for the implementation of several directions. In addition to the creation and reconstruction of tourism infrastructure, an important component is the promotion of the image of Pridnestrovie,” Viktor Guzun, Chairman of the Committee for the Development of Entrepreneurship and Industry, said during a meeting of parliament.
Positive Image and Media Promotion
The program provides for the implementation of a wide range of activities. Among them: installation of signs of the main tourist attractions and routes, equipment of tourist facilities information panels, the creation of sites for the sale of souvenirs, etc.
An important direction will be the formation of a positive image of the republic abroad. This year, it is scheduled to hold tourists gathering and investment forum. In addition, the program secured the publication of a guidebook on Pridnestrovie, the promotion of a tourist product on the Internet, the development of Discover Pridnestrovian website.
“In order to promote tourism attractiveness, it is important, among other things, to use the Internet space, we need films and videos. That should necessarily include spreading information about the republic in foreign languages,” Victor Guzun added.
Competitive Advantages
As part of the program, the regulatory and legal framework will be improved, and a catalog of travel service providers will be created. Special attention will be paid to the quality of training for the industry.
According to representatives of the deputies, tourism in Pridnestrovie has considerable potential.
“We have a land of plenty, a multinational region. The cultures of many nations are represented here. Our uniqueness will interest tourists. In addition, local giants can also attract guests: Tirotex, Kvint, Buket Moldavii. And, of course, everyone who comes to us can also appreciate the hospitality of Pridnestrovians,” Vadim Doni, a member of the relevant committee noted.
Expectations
At the first stage, it is planned to create 25 medium-term tourist routes, which capacity, according to experts, will lead to additional tax revenues to the budget in the amount equivalent to $ 35,000 annually.
“The measures taken will lead to an increase in the tourist flow, expansion of the participation of the business community in the industry, the formation of a positive socio-economic effect,” the explanatory note to the draft law says.
According to statistics, the number of foreigners who visited the republic in 2018, has increased significantly. Thus, the number of foreign tourists in the past year amounted to 10,112 people, against 3911 in 2017.
