PSU STUDENT ANNA BAIZAN IS THE WINNER OF THE FRANCOPHONIE-2019 FESTIVAL

Sophomore won the main prize - a trip to France

Tiraspol, April, 1. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Last week in Tiraspol there took place the XVII Festival of the French song Francophonie-2019.

French language and French culture admirers gathered in the Education and Culture Centre of the Pridnestrovian State University named after T.G. Shevchenko. 27 participants from different parts of Pridnestrovie struggled for the main prize - a trip to France. Among them were students of PSU, students of other educational institutions, dance groups.

The university press centre reports that the artists` performances were evaluated by the Ambassador of France to the Republic of Moldova Pascal Le Deunff, the Director of the French Alliance in Moldova Emmanuel Skulios, the Deputy Director Adrian Chebotaru, the singer of the DouceFrance duet and hymn singer of the Quantonchanteenfrancais festival Christoph Kjuk, linguistic attache at the Republic of Moldova Giovanni Cavallaro.  

Valentina Yeni, PSU Vice-Rector in Youth Policy, stated that the number of participants in the festival and their age structure were expanding every year. In the history of the Francophonie over 500 artists performed on the stage of the Education and Culture Centre, most of whom are students of the Pridnestrovian University.

“Today we are opening the XVII edition of the Festival of French song in Tiraspol. We are honoured to be a part of this event. Thanks a lot to the Pridnestrovian State University, since the university is not only an accomplice in organizing the festival, but there has been the Center for French Culture for many years,” Ambassador of France to the Republic of Moldova Pascal Le Deunff said.

He also said that at a meeting with the Rector of the University, they discussed further cooperation with universities in France in order to expand the possibilities of language practice and improve the methods of learning French.

According to the results of the festival, the student of the second training course of the PSU Philological Faculty Anna Baizan was the winner. Fascinating journey to France is waiting for her. Representatives of France presented diplomas and prizes to each participant of the event.
