YOUNG PEOPLE OF PRIDNESTROVIE AND KHANTY-MANSIYSK TALKED BY A VIDEO-LINK

Participants of the teleconference discussed the legal regulation of youth electoral commissions work in their regions, the requirements for election campaigning on the Internet

Tiraspol, March, 15. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Pridnestrovian youth election commissions talked with colleagues from the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Area of the Russian Federation in the form of a video conference for the first time. The meeting was organized by the YEC and Bendery Council of People's Deputies. The video conference was held at the Bendery Polytechnic Branch of the PGU, according to the PMR CEC website.

Head of the Central Election Commission Elena Gorodetskaya, Chairman of the Bendery City Council Yuri Kara, Deputy of the Supreme Council Ruslan Gareev, representatives of the Bendery Territorial Election Commission, youth electoral commissions of Pridnestrovie, as well as the Youth Parliament took part in the video conference.

As for the Russian side, there were not only colleagues from Ugra, but also representatives of another 22 municipalities of the Area.

After welcoming everyone, Elena Gorodetskaya noted that the experience of forming youth election commissions and parliament in Pridnestrovie was recent, while in the Russian Federation those youth structures existed for a relatively long time.

“This is an amazing platform for personal growth, leadership development and expansion of one’s own horizons. I really want the horizons of our youth to be as wide as possible. Therefore, today we will attentively listen to the ideas that you have, the impressions that you will exchange and write down. I am sure that we will all take useful experience from today's communication and certain work at home,” the Chairman of the CEC of the PMR addressed to all those present.

From the Khanty-Mansiysk side, the Chairman of the Youth Parliament at the Duma of the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area–Ugra, Nikolay Zabolotnev addressed the Pridnestrovians: “We have such a different territories, and such similar aspirations and goals. We are ready and happy to cooperate.”

The teleconference participants discussed the legal regulation of the work of youth electoral commissions in their regions, the requirements for election campaigning on the Internet, and also shared the ongoing activities of the YEC and youth parliaments.

Thus, over the past year, about 3,000 activities for young people were held in KhMAD, work is underway to form a reserve of members of youth election commissions, and by the end of April of this year, new constituencies will be formed in the district. The first youth election commission in the district was formed in 2016, and today there are 74 commissions.

The chief specialist of the Youth Policy Department of the Surgut Administration, Konstantin Voronov, shared the recent experience of holding the Congress of Young Voters, which, consisting of one hundred people (representatives of the city’s youth parliament, election commissions, student and youth communities), developed its recommendations for working with young people in the electoral direction. All recommendations developed were transferred to the Youth Parliament of the district for further development and decision-making by state authorities.

It was also noted, that the youth election commissions of Russia are directed, as well as in Pridnestrovie, to work with future and young voters. For these purposes various intellectual clubs, twists, What? Where? When? games, the months of young voters, film clubs, parliamentary debates, scientific conferences and business games are being held. Also, the youth of the Khanty-Mansiysk Area actively participates in truck tours and subbotniks dedicated to Victory Day.
