Tiraspol, March, 4. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The 25th Personal Table Tennis Championship of Moldova took place last week in Balti. 70 masters and fans of this sport participated in the tournament.
The champion title was won by the Dubossary sportswoman, the world-class master of sports Olga Bliznets. One more pupil of the republican school of table tennis Aleksandra Kiryakova became the silver prize-winner.
In a women's tournament, there were 20 participants divided into 5 groups. Two strongest sportswomen from each group reached the main final in which ten tennis-players played on a circular system from seven parties (prior to four victories).
Among finalists, there were Dubossary sportswomen Olga Bliznets and Aleksandra Kiryakova.
In the final Bliznets overcame the Balti sportswoman Ekaterina Zhibrik with the score 4:0, but conceded to Aleksandra Kiryakova – 3:4. The meeting Zhibrik – Kiryakova came to the end with a victory of the Moldavian tennis-player – 4:2.
As a result gold in singles was won by Olga Bliznets. On her account, there is also the victory in women's pair offset with Aleksandra Kiryakova.
The world-class master of sports Denis Tserna won two bronze medals in the championship: in the single and mixed categories.
