SWIMMERS FROM TIRASPOL WON THE TEAM CLASSIFICATION OF THE MOLDOVA CHAMPIONSHIP

They renewed two national records on the last day of the competition

Tiraspol, February, 9. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Moldova Winter Swimming Championship was held in the capital “on long water” - in the 50-meter pool of the Sheriff sport complex. Competitions gathered more than 200 athletes from Tiraspol, Chisinau and Balti. Some athletes came from Italy and Ukraine.

The strongest were identified in two age groups: adults and juniors.

Athletes from Tiraspol turn in a good score. The team included Tatiana Salkutsan, Anastasia Moshchenskaya, Alexandra Deineko and Alina Matrenitskaya. On the last day of the competition, the athletes renewed the national records in the 4x50 m freestyle swim and the 4x50 m combined relay.

In addition, they became winners and prize-winners in individual swimming. So, Tatiana Salcutsan won the distance on the back and 200-meter complex swimming. Alexandra Deineko was the best in freestyle and butterfly stroke. Anastasia Moshchenskaya won the bronze medal at the 50 m and 100 m breaststroke distances, Alina Matrenitskaya won the 200-meter freestyle. 13-year-old Daria Smirnova had fulfilled the standard of the master of sports for the first time. She showed the required time at a distance of 50 m butterfly.

Among the young men, the pupil of Sheriff SC Viktor Homula was especially distinguished. In his asset there are victories at distances of 100 m and 200 m at the back.

“For athletes, the most important thing right now is to fulfill the requirements for international competitions. This year, the World Universiade and the European Youth Olympic Festival were added to the traditional tournaments where members of a national team will take part. In addition, leading swimmers face the challenge of fulfilling Olympic qualification standards. Now Tatiana Salkutsan already significantly exceeds the standard B in backstroke. The task is to fulfill a higher A standard. The first attempt will be at the Ukrainian Championship in Kharkov.
