ARTEM GRIBINENKO FROM BENDERY WON BRONZE IN CADET WORLD SAMBO CHAMPIONSHIP

Competitions took place in the Serbian town of Novi Sad

Bendery, December, 12. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. On December 8-9, in the Serbian town of Novi Sad there was held the World Sambo Championship among cadets. According to the State Service for Sport, the competition was attended by athletes born in 2002–2003 from 23 countries. 

Artem Gribinenko, a graduate of the G.N. Badanov Bendery sports school, participated as a member of Moldova national team. He competed in the weight category up to 66 kg, the number of participants totaled 18. 

In the first fight, wrestler from Pridnestrovie defeated the representative of the host country, Boshko Todorovich from Serbia. There was another success in the quarterfinal in a fight with Jesus Hernandez from Spain. 

In semifinal, Ukrainian Sergey Nebotov was stronger. He eventually became the winner of the championship in his weight category. Artem Gribinenko had to hold another fight for the third place. Having overcome the resistance of Sarkis Sargsyan from Armenia, he won the bronze at the cadet world championship. 

It should be noted that Artem Gribinenko is being trained by the coach Oleg Kvitko, and this was the first major success in a young athlete`s career.
