Tiraspol, October, 24. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Vadim Krasnoselski, Pridnestrovie President, met with the third Youth Olympic Games participants, held in Buenos Aires in the first half of October, and their sports mentors.
The President Press Office reports that The Head of State presented documents on conferring the honorary title “Honored Worker of Pridnestrovie Physical Culture and Sports” to Tatiana Salkutsan, gold medalist and pupil of the Tiraspol Swimming Sports School.
Yevgeny Karabetski, the senior coach instructor of the swimming school, and his colleague Valery Barabash, representing the rowing department of the Tiraspol Junior Rowing and Shooting School of Olympic Reserve, were recognized as the Honored Workers of Pridnestrovie. Their boarders Anastasia Moshchenskaya and Ivan Korshunov were awarded a certificate of honor for participation in the Argentinean Junior Olympics 2018 by the Head of State.
After the awarding ceremony, the meeting continued in the tea- conversation format. Congratulating the children and leaders, Vadim Krasnoselski spoke about the long-standing traditions of physical culture and sports education in Pridnestrovie, the results of which various sports representatives successfully demonstrate during international competitions.
Also, the Head of State was interested in the impressions of the children on their return from competitions of such class, asked their opinion about the system of sports training and the conditions of training, as well as whether it is possible to combine sport and study.
Tatiana Salkutsan, who snatched the victory from the representative of Canada literally at the finishing touch, said that she was a law student at the Taras Shevchenko Pridnestrovie State University. 18-year-old sport master in rowing, Ivan Korshunov, who took 6th place in the singles competition, chose physical and mathematical sciences.
Emphasizing how important it is to be a diversified person, Vadim Krasnoselski was particularly interested in the guys` choice, and stressed that students-athletes should have an individual approach on the part of the educational institutions teaching staff. This is not about concessions, but about understanding the specifics and adjusting the schedule for passing tests and examinations, the Pridnestrovie President noted.
Ivan Korshunov told the head of state that the 500-meter distance was unexpected for him: he had to adopt himself. In addition, many boats suffered from hailstorm in the days of competition. Holes were being patched just before the performance.
The meeting participants also spoke about the level of equipment of Pridnestrovian sports schools. Noting that rowing is quite expensive in terms of inventory cost, Vadim Krasnoselski said that the boats are being updated and gradually all outdated ones will be replaced with the new ones.
Things are not so great today in Tiraspol public swimming pool. This is the main training area for Pridnestrovian swimmers. It needs to be repaired, inventory needs to be updated, Vyacheslav Sokolenko, the head of the specialized Government service, said. The President requested to calculate the costs and provide him with relevant documents in order to be able to assess the situation and find the source of funding.
During the meeting, its participants also talked about the fate of Bender swimming pool, arguing whether it is possible to create an object that would be transformed from indoor to outdoor.
Concluding the meeting, Vadim Krasnoselski called the guests the pride of the republic and expressed his confidence that the guys are waited by the new highest achievements, now at the adult Olympics.
