Tiraspol, October, 24. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The PIIEF-2018 organizing committee held a discussion on the outcomes of the Pridnestrovian International Investment Economic Forum. As informed the press office of the state power highest executive body, a plan for the upcoming work was outlined.
“This was a significant event for our republic. And here worked our entire Pridnestrovian team from ministries, the Supreme Council, the Presidential Administration, and public organizations. We worked quite effectively, the event was a success” - Alexander Martinov, Prime Minister, said, thanking everyone who was involved in the conduct of PIIEF -2018.
Among the many merits of the past forum the Head of Government named a considerable number of experts from foreign countries. “This is important because Pridnestrovie is only taking first steps in terms of establishing an investment climate. We need to earn potential investors and creditors trust” - Alexander Martinov said, acknowledging that the dialogue allows to discuss the republic’s investment potential and the opportunities provided by the new law on investment support as fully as possible.
At the same time, in the Prime Minister opinion, the next forum should invite guests who visited PIIEF-2018 and attract even more scientists, businessmen and experts.
In Alexander Martinov opinion another positive thing is the variety of sections devoted to the new investment law, credit opportunities for companies, macroeconomic policy, investment in social infrastructure, and many other aspects.
“All these are components of the investment climate. This indicates that we have approached this process correctly and from all angles” - Alexander Martinov said about the sections topic choice within the forum.
In 2019, the Prime Minister proposed to focus on investors who had already developed their production in Pridnestrovie. According to Alexander Martinov, investors would have a chance to tell about the experience of investing money here, about how guarantees and preferences are fulfilled within the framework of an investment agreement, and about the business climate in Pridnestrovie.
The head of government also believes that holding such an event should not be limited within one location - it is necessary to consider other sites that could become a good place for a dialogue between the forum participants.
For those investors who are not familiar with our republic and do not know what business is the best to open, they will prepare model projects. Moreover, attention will be focused on cultivation of the products that are now being imported.
“We must not only promote export-oriented production, but also production that can really contribute to the import substitution program” - Alexander Martinov outlined. “They will be interesting to the investor, since “the solvency of demand in our state is ensured for them”.
At the suggestion of Sergey Sherstyuk, member of ULF, for the future, we need to create a separate session on tourism. Bendery fortress can be a platform for discussion.
In that light, Andrew Betanov, Director of the Investment Agency, considered it appropriate to organize several forums at a time. Each of them would be devoted to a specific topic: the tourism industry, blockchain technologies, economic issues and investments. “Then we can comprehensively illuminate that direction. We will be able to invite a significant number of external investors and experts” - Andrew Betanov added.
The Head of the Government encouraged to include the scientific community more intensively. “The teaching staff and students` opinion is very important” - Alexander Martinov emphasized. In this regard, it was proposed to hold thematic conferences at the university site, where various topics from the field of economics, finance, etc. could become theme for discussion.
All those ideas will be analyzed, and preparing for the next forum will begin soon.
