Tiraspol, 27 June. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Increasing the retirement age in Pridnestrovie is impossible today, President Vadim Krasnoselsky said during a Supreme Council session.

According to the head of state, work had been carried out in Russia to increase the average age of its citizens before proceeding to the subject of raising the retirement age. Pridnestrovie had seen nothing of the kind. "Therefore, we cannot go this way," said Vadim Krasnoselsky.

In mid-June, the Russian government submitted to the Duma a bill that presupposes a gradual increase in the retirement age: up to 65 years for men and up to 63 for women.

Now the standard age of retirement in Russia, as well as in Pridnestrovie, is 60 and 55 years for men and women, respectively.

In most countries of the world, the retirement age varies from 60 to 65 years.
