Pridnestrovie not going to interfere in Moldovan elections

This was announced by President Vadim Krasnoselsky at a meeting with residents of Grigoriopol District

Grigoriopol, 18 May. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The residents of Grigoriopol wanted to know the political situation around Pridnestrovie. At a meeting with the local community, Vadim Krasnoselsky directly and openly spoke about all the key aspects.

Negotiation process: successes and difficulties

The president particularly dwelt on the progress in the negotiation process and the recently signed agreements which are of special importance for ordinary citizens. Among them is the apostille verification of PSU diplomas, neutral license plates for Pridnestrovian cars, telecommunication issues, Romanian-language schools, land use in Dubossary District. The president revealed the essence of the agreements and the benefits that their practical implementation would bring.

Vadim Krasnoselsky also outlined the difficulties the Pridnestrovian negotiators encountered and paid attention to the measures taken to uphold Pridnestrovie's position the interests of its citizens. The attendees asked clarifying questions, for example, about the procedure for issuing and replacing neutral license plates.

Will Rogozin retain his post?

The president was asked about the details of his recent meeting with Russia's ambassador at large Sergey Gubarev. The residents of the city and the district wanted to know if Russia's special representative on Pridnestrovie Dmitry Rogozin would retain his post.

Vadim Krasnoselsky said that Pridnestrovie closely cooperates with Sergey Gubarev, the Russian MFA's envoy for the Moldo-Pridnestrovian settlement, in various areas related to both the negotiation process and the contacts of Pridnrstrovie and Russia. As for the government reshuffles in Russia and the likelihood of a change of Russia's special representative on Pridnestrovie, Vadim Krasnoselsky stressed that this is an exclusive matter of Russia. The president noted at the same time that the PMR leadership is ready for productive cooperation with everyone who will be approved for this post.

Speaking about Dmitry Rogozin, the president highly appreciated his contribution to the development of the Pridnestrovian-Russian relations, drawing attention to his professional and human qualities.

About the situation in Moldova

The participants asked the president about the forthcoming elections to the Moldovan parliament and their potential influence on the Pridnestrovian-Moldovan relations. According to Vadim Krasnoselsky, the basic principles of the relations between the two states have always been based on the constitution and legislation. 

"It's not the slogans, not the political elites, not Krasnoselsky, Dodon or Filip that matter. I, as president, are the champion of the main document of the state and its laws. If I violate them, I'll be impeached - and this is correct," said the Prednistrovian president.

Speaking about the domestic political situation in Moldova, Vadim Krasnoselsky stressed that the neighbouring country needs to decide on its development vector. 

"If the people of Moldova choose the pro-Russian way of development, we will take this decision and we will build our relations taking into account the choice of the Moldovan people. We will do the same if the neighbouring state prefers a pro-European vector," said the president. Vadim Krasnoselsky added that Pridnestrovie would not interfere in the electoral process of the Republic of Moldova.
