Bendery, May 10. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The possibility of organising an inspection of joint peacekeeping posts was discussed during a regular meeting of the Joint Control Commission (JCC). Their readiness for service is traditionally checked twice a year. In 2017, joint JCC inspections were blocked by representatives of Chisinau. This year the Moldovan side has also refused so far to take part in this procedure.

"Traditionally in spring and autumn, the JCC visits the posts of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces. We provide an assessment of the activities of our military at these posts, service conditions and, of course, check their operational readiness. We have failed to find understanding on Moldova's part. They are still blocking the inspection of the posts," Pridnestrovie's co-chair to the JCC Oleg Belyakov told Novosti Pridnestrovya.

The peacekeeping operation in Pridnestrovie is carried out by the Joint Peacekeeping Forces, composed of Russian, Pridnestrovian and Moldovan soldiers, as well as ten military observers from Ukraine. The peacemakers serve at 15 stationary posts and checkpoints located in the key sectors of the Security Zone - a 225 km long and 12-24 km wide strip of land stretching along the Dniester. The city of Bendery has the status of a district with high-security mode; Dubossary with special-security mode.
