The president of PMR Vadim Krasnoselsky told in an interview to Nezavisimaya Gazeta why the Pridnestrovie’s representatives had been invited to the meeting of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
"We were invited to the PACE to learn more about our experience. We can teach others how to survive in difficult conditions being on friendly terms with everybody. I have a vested interest in harmony and cooperation with Moldova, Ukraine, despite its relations with Moscow, other countries of the EU and the EEU," the Pridnestrovie's president told.
According to him, there are no geopolitical collisions and territorial break in Pridnestrovie: "We’ve shown how it is possible to harmonize the West and the East".
The invitation to the PACE has a reason behind it, Vadim Krasnoselsky says.
"It happened due to the fact that we had devoted a lot of time to prove and explain our views on independence. To do this, we used different platforms in Moscow, participated in the negotiations and the round tables in Chisinau. We were invited to London and were received in the British Foreign Office, I was provided an opportunity to give a lecture in the Oxford club. Pridnestrovians participated in some events in Switzerland. The Friendship Centre of Italy and Pridnestrovie has been opened in Rome recently. We told about the facts of our life everywhere, about the referendum of 2006 when the majority of Pridnestrovians supported the independence from Moldova. We began to be listened and heard. Maybe, it is also due to the fact that we preserve peace. As a result, we were given a chance to trade at the EU market, maintaining ties with the Russian Federation and other countries of the EEU," the head of state noted.
It is important to remind that the meeting of the PACE Subcommittee on Conflicts to take place in Paris on January 16. The speaker of the Pridnestrovie's Supreme Council Alexander Shcherba and the Pridnestrovie's Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatyev will take part in it.
