Tiraspol, 5 September. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic has always attracted western journalists. And if five years ago we were called a closed and dangerous unrecognised state, the number of true newspaper articles and video reports about Pridnestrovie has been increasing since then.
On 2 September our country celebrated its 27th anniversary. The celebration was pompous: a military parade marched on the central square, and along the main street were dozens of national cuisine cafés where visitors could enjoy tasty pastries and fruit grown in our fertile land.
Guests from all over the world had come to Pridnestrovie to celebrate the holiday with Pridnestrovians. The foreign speech could be heard time and again in the crowds of strollers.
We met Alexandre Delanaud during the military parade. The independent journalist, who came from Paris, was shooting all events around with a camera.
Alexandre told us it was his second time in Pridnestrovie. "I first visited Pridnestrovie in 2011 as a tourist. I read an article in a French national newspaper about the Moldo-Pridnestrovian conflict. Few people in Western Europe know about these republics, and it was interesting for me to come here, to see everything with my own eyes," noted the Frenchman.
Seven years later Alexandre Delanuad came to Pridnestrovie as a journalist to make a documentary about the country. As he used to work on the national Canal+, he hopes his film will be aired on French TV.
The journalist also drew attention to the changed that have occurred in recent years.
I am very impressed; the city is growing; there are new buildings everywhere. I'm happy to be here. I liked the parade, an epic event that can introduce the republic to other countries.
We hope that Alexander will make an honest and sincere film that will attract more tourists to our country.
