Tiraspol, 15 August. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The management of GUKP Pridnestrovian Railway presented the 7-month results of the company's work, the government's press service reports.
The total volume of freight traffic increased by 21% compared to the same period last year, amounting to 1.56 million tonnes, the company's CEO Yury Oleynik said. There was also an increase in the volume of services and, as a result, tax deductions to the budget also significantly increased.
«Today we work with economic entities directly, which we haven't done before. If there is a need, we provide them with a full range of services, including delivery and subsequent unloading of cargoes," said Oleynik.
The CEO also noted that reduced costs and increased profits were largely due to the absence of intermediaries and flexible tariff policies.
«The measures taken by the government to reduce the tariffs have resulted in an increase in the volume of goods, which has enabled us to attract clients. Many carriers prefer to use our rail transport. We have been increasing the volume through more flexible tariff policies," underscored Oleynik.
The prime minister, in return, instructed the company's management to further seek positive indicators.
«The current state of affairs in Pridnestrovian Railway is a good example of how professional management, the establishment of a transparent financial scheme has had a positive impact on the company's economy," underscored Martynov.
