Tiraspol, 30 July. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The concert was organised yesterday in Bendery's Liberation Square. The honoured guests of the concert were president Krasnoselsky, government members, OGRF and JPF servicemen, the president's press service reports.
Vadim Krasnoselsky congratulated the peacekeepers and Pridnestrovian citizens on the 25th anniversary of the Russia-led peacekeeping operation in Pridnestroive. He recalled that this year, alongside with memorable dates, our country also marks a number of tragic dates — 25th anniversary of Moldova's aggression agaist Pridnestrovie, 25 years of the Bendery tragedy.
«Thanks to the defenders of Pridnestrovie, Bendery inhabitants and all Pridnestrovians, we managed to defend the country and set up a basis for a peacekeeping operation. The people met the Russian peacekeepers as liberators, realising that it was they who brought peace to each Pridnestrovian home and family," noted Krasnoselsky. He thanked the peacekeepers for their military work and wished them fortitude and all Pridnestrovians peaceful sky.
It had been planned that Russian pop singers would come to congratulate Pridnestrovie on the anniversary. However, Romania did not allow into its airspace the palne on which the Russian singers, as well as Russian officials and vice premier Dmitry Rogozin, were going to Moldova.
But one Russian was abale to shre the joy of the holiday wit Pridnestrovians. Olga Varvus, a native of Tiraspol, is an ambassador of the Russian World Foundation and participant of the Romantic Romance programme on Russia's Culture TV.
Besides her, the audience enjoyed the performance of the orchestras of the Ministry of Interior and the General Staff of the Rmed Forces, Viorika, Prietinia and Dobrynya folklore companies.
After the concert, the sky over Bendery was illuminated with volleys of holiday fireworks.
