Bendery, 29 June. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. In connection with the expulsion of three Russian JCC members from Moldova and the completion of the current Russian co-chair's mission, the Russian delegation has requested to temporarily change the treatment of issues at JCC meetings. The body is supposed to deal exclusively with organisational issues and JCC reports about the situation in the Security Zone.
«It is proposed to resume in the future a full-fledged format of considering issues at JCC meetings when a new Russian co-chair and military observers are appointed and approved at a JCC meeting," says the statement issued at today's JCC meeting by the Russian delegation.
According to the outgoing co-chair, Yevgeny Vereschaga, this proposal was understood by the participants, and the JCC's work will therefore continue.
«The work continues, though there are some issues. But I think they will have been resolved by September, and the Russian delegation will work in full format," said Vereschaga.
According to the head of the Pridnestrovian delegation, Oleg Belyakov, the JCC has met this fact with wary and at the same time with understanding.
«We hope that this situation will be resolved as soon as possible, and the Russian delegation will introduce its new members to ensure that the elements of the peacekeeping operation have not been affected," he concluded.
