Tiraspol, 19 June. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The Pridnestrovian people have always sought peace and never thought of war, Pridnestrovian President Vadim Krasnoselsky told journalists after a mourning rally dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the Bendery tragedy.
The leader explained that there was no certainty in tomorrow without peace in our country. «Moldova has not yet given a legal assessment of the mass murders of Pridnestrovian and Moldovan citizens. And without this assessment there is no reason to assume what's going to happen next," noted Krasnoselsky, explaining that he was worried by the Moldovan constitutional court's decision recognising the peacekeepers as occupants that could be expelled even by military force.
«This is a dangerous statement by irresponsible politicians, who by and large have remained 'hawks'," the president believes.
The president stressed that the 1992 aggression was a clash of lifestyles, vectors of development.
«We wanted to live in the Russian world, seeking to live in one state with Russia. It is probably still annoying some politicians in Moldova. The choice of the Pridnestrovian people cannot be changed. The core of the Pridnestrovian character has been formed for 25 years, which is hard to break. «So they are sure to fail," said the president.
«In this difficult situation, especially now that there is a new round of unrest, escalation around Pridnestrovie, we are striving for peace and seeking to negotiate on any venue. You know our stance, a clear-cut stance of continuing the dialogue in the '5+2' format or in the '1+1' format. Only through peace can we keep calm in our land," he added.
During a press briefing Vadim Krasnoselsky underscored that Pridnestrovie was a peace-loving state that wants to live in peace with its neighbours.
