Budget revenues increase in first quarter

Tiraspol, 25 April. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The first quarter of 2017 saw a rise in budget revenues from 290.4 to 337 million roubles. As noted by the deputy minister, director of the State Tax Agency of the Ministry of Finance, Natalia Sokolova, this is the result of additional earnings.

«It is, first of all, due to the earnings that we received in the first quarter. For example, if last year our central bank received revenue in the second quarter, this year the advance payment of 25 million roubles was transferred in the first quarter. Besides, a decision has been made to divert 25 million roubles of share dues until 1 December 2017 to provide social benefits. We are doing well in collecting the corporate tax — we have received about 10% more tax payments, although we have fallen short of some other payments," she explained.

Local budget revenues, however, went down from 179.2 to 176.1 million roubles.

«Local budgets are not doing so well. They chiefly rely on local tax payments which unlike republican taxes were not transferred so intensively," said the deputy minister.

The revenues of the social security fund, from which pensions and allowances are paid, also fell from 298.6 to 285.4 million roubles compared to the first quarter of 2016.

As for major taxpayers, according to Natalia Sokolova, their tax deductions are roughly at the same level.

«As for major taxpayers, the situation is fairly stable. We see that many of them are either keeping up with the 2016 pace in corporate tax payments, which is our main tax or even showing a 2−3% increase, but these are also very significant sums for us," she said.

At the same time, both local and republican budgets saw a rise in expenditures, amounting to 539.6 million in 2017 against 502.1 million in 2016 and 244.5 million in 2017 against 214.8 million in 2016, respectively.

The social security fund's expenditures, however, decreased from 518.5 million roubles in January — March 2016 to 505.9 million roubles over the same period of 2017.
