Tiraspol, 14 April. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The chairman of the SCC, Vitaly Nyagu, told about potential threats and risks related to the establishment of joint Moldo-Ukrainian control at the Kuchurgan crossing point, as well as the measures the JCC is taking to minimise them. According to Nyagu, the country's budget will lose over $14 million because of reduced customs duties.

Besides, according to him, Pridnestrovie will fall short of another $300,000 in excise duties.

«SCC experts have estimated there will also occur indirect losses, amounting to $35 — 40 million," the SCC chair said in an interview with the First Pridnestrovian TV channel.

It is also important that establishing joint Moldo-Ukrainian control at the Kuchurgan post may trigger a food crisis in Pridnestrovie. According to Vitaly Nyagu, this crossing point is a key channel for the entry of goods to the republic.

«Almost all groups of goods are coming to the republic from Ukraine through the Kuchurgan crossing point. This includes 90% of the meat and fish imports, about 70% of the medicines and about 70% of the macaroni and wheat products," noted the chairman.

At the same time, according to Vitaly Nyagu, options for redirecting major import and transit flows through other crossing points are currently being considered. Such a post may be deployed in Novyie Goyany village.

Speaking about possible problems that may arise when crossing the Pridnestrovian-Ukrainian border, Vitaly Nyagu underscored that the committee could only assume the consequences since «neither Moldovan nor Ukrainian side has not provided the post's technological scheme.

He also said the SCC would take measures to mitigate the damage on the country's economy inflicted by establishing joint Moldo-Ukrainian control at the Kuchurgan crossing point.
