Tiraspol, 19 January. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Special Representative of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Wolf Dietrich Heim held a meeting with Pridnestrovie's foreign minister Vitaly Ignatyev.
In the course of the dialogue, the Pridnestrovian minister expressed hope that the pace of work set by the Austrian diplomats at the start of the year would further continue. He recalled, at the same time, there existed a comprehensive international mechanism for the negotiation process consisting of several parts. The diplomat believes that the Austrian chairmanship could give a certain positive impetus to fully implement the goals and objectives within the negotiating process.
«We have focused on the speediest resolution of socio-humanitarian, economic issues which hinder the normal lives of people," said the minister.
Vitaly Ignatyev also noted that last year had seen the intensification of the Moldo-Pridnestrovian settlement process, including the signing of the Berlin protocol.
«We agreed on a certain package of problematic issues that need prompt resolution. Unfortunately, our relationship with Moldovan colleagues are not limited to these issues only," explained the diplomat.
Vitaly Ignatyev assured the guest that the Pridnestrovian side was ready for substantive and efficient work across the entire range of problems of the Moldo-Pridnestrovian settlement.
Wolf Heim, in turn, expressed hope that this year would see significant achievements in the negotiations.
«We see that our success is based on collective efforts, and we will be able to achieve progress in the '5+2' format and those issues that are outside this format," said the Austrian diplomat.
