Bavaria's government delegation visits Supreme Council

Tiraspol, 20 December. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. A meeting with the delegation of the federal state of Bavaria, which included Commissioner for the Integration of Foreigners Martin Neumeier, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to the Republic of Moldova Ulrike Maria Knotz, took place in the Supreme Council of the PMR, the press service of the Pridnestrovian parliament reports.

The Pridnestrovian side was represented In the meeting by the chairman of the committee on education, science and culture, Mikhail Burla.

«We are always glad to welcome foreign guests in Pridnestrovie. Visits of foreign delegations are very important and useful for us. Any information obtained by word of mouth is essential for understanding the situation in our republic," said the MP.

Mikhail Burla told the guests about the domestic political situation in the republic after the presidential election, as well as about the process of renewing the Pridnestrovian government. «I emphasise that the election was democratic and open. It is a sign that Pridnestrovie has established itself as a state," he said.

The Supreme Council is the first destination in the programme of the Bavarian delegation. The international visitors, for many of whom it is the first visit to Pridnestrovie, were interested in the country's prospects for the development of the negotiation process in Moldova. According to Mikhail Burla, issues to be resolved within the negotiating process in the «5+2» format were also discussed during the meeting.

«First of all, these are the issues of economic development, the free movement of citizens and goods, removing a number of restrictions in the economic cooperation between Pridnestrovie and Moldova, as well as transit functions of our region. Besides, we discussed the possibility of mutual international recognition of our documents," added the MP.
