Pridnestrovian president calls terms of constructive interaction between branches of power

In the Vesti Nedeli TV show on RTR Moldova, Yevgeny Shevchuk commented on the upcoming elections in the country

Tiraspol, 6 December. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. In an interview with RTR Molodva, Pridnestrovian President Yevgeny Shevchuk commented on the upcoming elections in the country and the establishment of interaction between the branches of power.

The head of state underscored that elections always suggest a competition of people, programmes and approaches. «So, it is in the interests of the state to have people who can modernise the system of administration," he said.

According to the president, in the current situation with many risks, including internal ones, it is necessary to change.

«It is possible to address these risks only when we have received a clear signal from our citizens as a result of political struggle which way they want to go. These elections will show whether it will be a strategy of the state's economic development in the framework of clear-cut state interests or it will be a merge of political and economic institutions, and representatives of political bodies in power will be governed by business entities," said Shevchuk.

According to him, a separation of state institutions from business would contribute to the productive work of state authorities.

«If the Supreme Council adopts the ideology of changes, which is aimed at separating state authorities from business, the work will be constructive. If they do not, we'll seek mechanisms which would determine the aspirations of our people," concluded the president.
