Tiraspol, 20 September. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Yesterday, South Ossetian President Leonid Tibilov received a delegation of the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic led by Chairman of the Government of the PMR Pavel Prokudin, the news agency Res reports.
«We are glad that you have come to our republic to rejoice with us at the upcoming holiday," said the president. «Good relations with serious background have developed and are still developing between Pridnestrovie and South Ossetia. We have been friends from the very first days of the proclamation of the republic, both there and here. I have been several times to Pridnestrovie and each time I rejoiced at the festivities you held. And when we went around the places where the most intense fighting took place, we seemed to find ourselves in South Ossetia as everything there and in our country followed approximately the same scenario; therefore, our nations are very close».
Prokudin, in turn, congratulated the leadership and the people of South Ossetia on the upcoming holiday — the Day of the Proclamation of the Republic.
«Yes, indeed, there is pretty much that unites us," underscored Prokudin. «And we could not miss the opportunity to come and congratulate our fraternal nation on its holiday. Our recent history is almost the same, as if written with a carbon paper. The same aggression, the same fortitude of our militiamen who used steel bars against assault rifles. But we have survived, which encourages us to feel confident about future. We treat your nation as fraternal, and we must hang together.»
Prokudin noted that Pridnestrovie keeps an eye on the progress of South Ossetia.
«Today we've had a sightseeing tour during which we saw how much has been done in the country in the past three-four years, and this is very encouraging," said Prokudin.
At the end of the meeting, the sides exchanged Orders of Friendship.
