Tiraspol, September 14. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. President Yevgeny Shevchuk received a delegation of the Russian Institute of Strategic Studies headed by the deputy director of the RISS Tamara Guzenkova. The Pridnestrovie's Foreign Minister Vitaly Ignatyev also participated in the meeting.
As the Presidential Press Office reports, the delegation of the Russian scientists came to the republic to participate in the international conference «Russia — the Strategic Choice of the Pridnestrovian People». The event is planned for September 16 and will take place pursuant to the order of the President Yevgeny Shevchuk within celebration of the 10 anniversary of the republican referendum of September 17, 2006.
A main objective of the discussion platform of the main higher education institution of the country is promotion of cooperation between the research centers of two countries and establishment of effective interaction formats.
During exchange of mutual greetings, Yevgeny Shevchuk thanked Tamara Guzenkova for a visit to Pridnestrovie and attention shown to the republic.
«We have always been aimed at constructive interaction with the most respected scientific community of the Russian Federation. Recommendations of your colleagues were fundamental for elaboration of a number of decisions in Pridnestrovie," the President told. «Thank you for having time and opportunities to come to Pridnestrovie and to make tactical, operational and strategic analysis, to make recommendations. It's important for preservation and improvement of Pridnestrovian statehood in the fields of economy and interaction with the world».
In turn, the RISS deputy director noted that it was very important for the Russian experts to find out more about social, economic and political situation in Pridnestrovie from within communicating with politicians, scientific community and citizens. «We are interested in the public sentiments and in the plans of the republic for the future," Tamara Guzenkova emphasized.
Within the meeting, the President and the Russian experts discussed the current situation in the republic in details. Special attention was paid to the programs in the field of healthcare and education support. Yevgeny Shevchuk and Tamara Guzenkova also exchanged opinions on topical issues of state development.
