Tiraspol, June 1. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. We provide full text of the comment by the Pridnestrovian President’s spokesperson:
"In the conditions of fragile democracy and real problems each political force and each individual representative of it show who is who.
It is regrettable that a number of the President's meetings with representatives of the Government, the Supreme Council and the Central Bank aiming to conciliate various points of view and to elaborate a uniform state decision for the good of the country, were exploited to search a 'black cat' in a place where it is not present. I believe that the main objective of such actions is to shift responsibility from themselves, that is from those who must make crucial decisions on the ruble exchange rate, to anyone. And the pre-election context and desire of deliberate forcing of a situation is seen in it.
Pridnestrovie's legislation establishes that the issues concerning the exchange rate formation mechanism are within the competence of the Supreme Council and the Central Bank. The Supreme Council makes a final decision on setting of the currency’s trading band.
Unconstructive declamations don't solve the problem, but only aggravate it. It should be noted that responsibility for the situation in the currency, fuel and commodity market lies on the state authorities responsible for the exchange rate formation mechanism. Attempts to arrange food crisis are obvious and counterproductive. The President considers that intractability of a certain political force in this matter causes additional instability.
I hope that political objectives of the Elections-2016 won't be achieved at any cost, including by fomenting tension".
