Tiraspol, 31 May. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. Pridnestrovie's agricultural ministry representatives took part in an international theoretical and practical conference «Selective-genetic and ecological-technological problems of increasing the long-lasting productivity of meat and dairy cows». The conference took place in the village of Kokino, Bryansk region, from 26 to 28 May.
The PMR's Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources (MANR) had received an invitation to take part in the international forum from Russia's agricultural ministry, as well as from Bryansk State Agrarian University and Institute for Agribusiness Refresher Training and Foreign Relations.
Among the Pridnestrovians who visited the conference was the head of the ministry's Department of Veterinary, Sanitary and Phytosanitary Well-Being, Andrey Vislovsky, the MANR's press service reports. According to him, the conference was also attended by representatives of Russian regions, foreign scientists, specialists from big agricultural holdings and companies, officials and businesspersons, university teachers and farmers.
«The conference centred on the issues of increasing the long-lasting productivity of meat and dairy cows in Russia. Programmes of support to meat and dairy cattle breeding in various regions were discussed. Issues relating to the development of livestock breeding in Russia were also raised. This refers to the necessity of preserving and increasing the number of breeders. Such work is already under way, including as part of import substitution programmes and the tasks set by the president before subject matter specialists," said Andrey Vislovsky.
He added that in the course of session meetings forum participants had discussed efficient methods of milking and the accomplishment of the maximum profitability of milk production.
