Tiraspol, 5 April. /Novosti Pridnestrovya/. The chair of the government, Pavel Prokudin, has held a working meeting with his deputies and the minister of finance. The main topic of discussion was an interest-free target loan offered to the government by a commercial organisation.
The loan is designed to pay off public sector salary arrears which was formed during a period of the special procedure of financing individual social protection items in 2015, the press service of the Pridnestrovian government reports.
The prime minister praised the social responsibility of the company's management, but emphasised, at the same time, a considerable amount of work the government is carrying out to stabilise the socio-economic situation.
In particular, Pavel Prokudin announced the government's efforts to find external funding sources. «The government earlier planned to look to the Russian Federation for assistance," noted the prime minister.
In the present situation, according to the head of the government, it is important to make an objective evaluation of the possible implications of making this or that decision. «We must discuss all the terms of this loan, including a repayment period and repayment sources. We must understand how we will repay this loan," added Pavel Prokudin.
In addition, the meeting participants discussed the possible implications of a one-time inflow of such considerable money supply to Pridnestrovie's exchange market. According to experts, the influx of 300 million roubles to the country's economy will entail mass demand for exchange currency cash, which will aggravate the existing imbalance.
As a result of the meeting, it was decided to hold additional consultations. On tomorrow's agenda are meetings with the involvement of representatives of economic ministries, the Pridnestrovian Republican Bank and other relevant agencies. It is planned during the upcoming discussion to elaborate a detailed projection of the outcome of accepting the offer.
